The Vice Chancellor Felicitates with a Worthy Statesman at 70

HEARTY BIRTHDAY FELICITATIONS TO A WORTHY STATESMAN

The Vice Chancellor, on behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Senate, Staff, Students and the entire University of Jos Community heartily rejoices with a worthy Ambassador of our great institution, Professor Sonni Gwanle Tyoden on the occasion of your 70th birthday.

We recall with great fondness your tenure as Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos where you served meritoriously thus ensuring that the University witnessed unprecedented achievements culminating in her being rated as the Second-best University in Nigeria. This feat is still being celebrated both far and wide. As an erudite scholar, the products of your mentorship have gone ahead to become notable academics and Administrators in their own right, thereby making immeasurable contributions to national development and attracting international recognition.

Your foray into the political arena was thus a natural choice for one with such a sterling track record and unblemished career in the public service which your position as Deputy Governor of Plateau State has only served to amplify. The giant strides recorded by the “Rescue Administration” under His Excellency, Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Simon Lalong is adequate testament to the formidable partnership that together you have formed for the betterment of Plateau State which is yielding the much desired results.

On this auspicious occasion of your clocking the Biblical Three Score and Ten years of age, it is our sincere prayer that the Almighty God continues to grant you sound health, strength, wisdom and courage to excel in the service to our fatherland and humanity as a whole.

Once more, congratulations and Happy Platinum Jubilee to a worthy Statesman!
