COMPULSORY STAY AT HOME OF NON-ESSENTIAL PUBLIC SERVANTS AS FURTHER MEASURE TO CURTAIL THE SPREAD OF CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) PANDEMIC
Management of the University of Jos hereby directs all Staff of the University to stay and work from home as from Wednesday 25th March, 2020 until further notice. This is in line with the Federal Government and Plateau State Government’s directive that all non-essential Public Servants on Grade Level 12 and below should stay and work from home. This is to protect the welfare and safety of all Public Servants as further steps are taken to check the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
While at home, all Staff are strongly advised to observe strict principles of personal hygiene including frequent washing of hands with soap and running water. They are also advised to limit the number of visitors they receive to the barest minimum in order to reduce physical contact as much as possible as well as maintain social distancing and avoid crowded places.
Staff are advised not to travel far because their attention may be required in the University from time to time.
However, Staff on essential duties in the Health Services Directorate, Security Division and those in charge of water and electricity supply in the Directorate of Physical Facilities are expected to continue with their normal work during the said period.
Thank you.
