Management of UNIJOS led by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Seddi Sebastian Maimako, has paid a condolence visit to the University’s Registrar, Mr. Monday Danjem, to commiserate with him over the death of his Mother-In-Law.
Presenting the condolence message, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Maimako on behalf of Management expressed sadness over the demise, stressing that death is inevitable and is a call everyone would one day have to answer.
Maimako commended the Registrar for taking good care of his Mother-In-Law while she was alive, stating that it is only God who grants long life. He challenged others to emulate the Registrar as many people are not ready to provide proper attention to theiraged parents and other old people even though it is a cherished African tradition.
He prayed for God to console the family and give them the fortitude to bear the loss.
Responding, the Registrar, Mr. Monday Danjem appreciated the Management for finding time to commiserate with the family during their time of grief. Danjem noted that death always comes with pains to the bereaved families, but said they felt consoled because the deceased was a God-fearing woman who had dedicated her entire life to the Lord, stressing that they arecomforted that she died in the Lord and having lived a fulfilled life.
Earlier in an opening remark, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Professor GreyEjikeme, expressed sympathy to the family, urging them not be weighed down but rather look unto God who made it possible for the deceased to live a long and fulfilled life.
