UNIJOS AUTHORITIES PRESENT VEHICLE TO SUG

A Peugeot 406, Seven Seater Station Wagon worth One Point Five Million Naira (N1.5M) has been presented to the Parliamentary Arm of the Students Union Government (SUG) of the University of Jos to facilitate easy movement for the parliamentarians while carrying out their official assignments.

The brief but colorful event was held at the Vice-Chancellor’s Lodge, Liberty Boulevard, Jos.

Speaking at the occasion, Dean, Students Affairs, Professor Ismael Ogboru said due to the bad state of their old official Vehicle, it had to be sold with the proceeds of the sale added up to purchase a new vehicle.

Handing over the new Car to the Parliamentarians, Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Seddi Sebastian Maimako said purchasing the car became necessary because of the exigencies of the Parliamentary Speaker’s Office.

Maimako urged the Student leaders to apply the principle of proper maintenance and not allow the vehicle to be a source of distraction.

An elated President of the University’s Student Union Government, Fwangshak Pantu appreciated the gesture and assured the University Authorities of diligent use of the Vehicle.

Pantu added that as an intermediary between Management and Students, the Union will key into policies that will help in the transformation of the University.

Speaker of the Parliament, Bukams Maryoms assured of proper maintenance of the car and expressed happiness that they would now be able to undertake their activities without hindrance.

Highpoint of the Presentation was testing and handover of keys of the car by the Vice-Chancellor to the leadership of the Students Union Government.
